Goals and challenges

The main goal of the project was to show the character of the legendary hairdresser from Sieradz in an unconventional and designer way. A significant challenge of the project was its significant interdisciplinarity, in which historical, artistic and technological aspects had to be combined in order to best reflect the eccentric character of Antoine Cierplikowski.

Solution

Virtual reality technology was used for the project, which has unlimited possibilities in creating the most artistic and abstract visions. In the first stage of the project, our entire team got acquainted with the story of Antoine Cierplikowski in detail in order to understand and create a vision identical with him. Then, cooperation was started with the Poviat Museum in Sieradz, historians and collectors. In addition, the entire artistic sphere of the project was led by a well-known Polish artist, Kornelia Dzikowska, with whom we established cooperation. During the implementation, in addition to standard 3D modeling, technologies such as 3D scanning or photogrammetry were used to use exhibits related to a historical figure.

Result

The project was a huge success - the Antoine Cierplikowski Virtual Museum is now one of the greatest cultural attractions of the city of Sieradz. The completed Antoine Cierplikowski Virtual Museum consists of a total of 8 rooms. The first room is introductory, the user learns the controls and basic information about the museum. The next room is a gallery showing the sad face of poor Sieradz, from which Antoine's master fled penniless to great Paris. Then we go to the central room, from which we can teleport to 5 rooms showing the most important spheres of the life of the most famous Polish hairdresser: "Antoine Wizjoner", "Antoine's Women", "Great Art", "Others about Atoina", "Garden". In the first room, "Antoine Wizjoner", we can interactively learn about the most important achievements of the master. In the second room of "Antoine's Women" we can listen to stories about the most famous clients of the king of hairdressers. In the third room "Great Art" we will find exhibits of Polish and French artists of world renown, including the sculpture of Xawery Dunikowski scanned in Warsaw's Królikarnia. In the fourth room "Others about Antoine" we can see video materials from the 1960s made available by Telewizja Polska. The last room "Garden" shows Antoine's return to Poland and his idyllic life in Sieradz.
